Tadpoles?

Question
I have recently noticed small black tadpole appearing swimmers in my small fish pond numbering in the thousands.  I have a small number of goldfish and I am concerned that they will endanger my fish or worse overtake my yard if they are indeed toads. What to do?

Answer
Hi Britt,

Don't worry about them.

Tadpoles would eat up all mosquito larvae from your pond.

Do not be scared of their numbers, they would not cause any harm to your yard. Moreover, as soon as the birds see them crawling out, they will eat them.
Also, the mere presence of tadpoles is an indication that the environment is healthy. Any contamination and they would be the first ones to disappear.

Good luck,

Carlo
