Hi, I just got a 75gal and was going for an angel fish setup. I have added gravel as substrate but one bag was white coral chips by mistake, my friend said this would raise the hardness to bad levels for angels or freshwater fish in general. Is this true to your knoweledge? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Mike;

It will raise the hardness and pH. Watch it and see how it goes. You could add driftwood to the tank and/or peat to the filter to help offset it. I would hate to see you have to replace all the gravel because of this. Yikes!
