Tankmates for male Betta fish.

Hi I was just wondering if there are any fish that would get along with my betta fish. I've had it for about a year and I have a 5 gallon tank. I wanted to know this because I like my Betta but I would like another fish and my Betta looks lonely. So if you have any edvice could you please email me. Thanks Seeya!

Hello Matt-

If you want to add another fish, I would recommend maybe a small school of neons (5 at the most.) This way, they won't take up too much space but will still have a group to be a part of. You could also try a bumblebee catfish or a raphael catfish if you like the look of them. Either way, don't add more than 5 neons or one larger fish, or the tank will be overcrowded and your betta may attack his tankmate(s)
