low carb diet

Hi, I was wondering if a low carb diet is ok for a horse that doesn't necessarily need it?

Hi John, If your horse is on the thick side then, no, I wouldn't suggest taking the carbs away such as a low carb diet would provide.  If he's on the thicker side or an easy keeper and not a young horse (2 or under) then I would say that it would be OK.  Jessica
