CRT test on horses

Question
hello, why to do a CRT time test on a horse? please tell me in detail!!

Answer
Hi Caine,

Thank you for your question.  As I mentioned earlier, the capillary refill test (CRT) can be a useful tool for checking your horse for dehydration.  The CRT is essentially an indicator of your horse's blood circulation...a delayed (beyond 2 seconds) capillary refill time can indicate shock and other illness associated with poor circulation.  In the previous answer I explained how to perform the test.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, Corlena
