Dressage Training for Horses

I have a 3-year-old filly (holsteiner).  Is she old enough to start training for Dressage?  If so, how should I start her out.

Hi Kathy,

Your horse is still very young and should not be worked too hard.  That said there's no reason why she cannot start training provided you keep it simple and short bursts only (no more than 20mins).

I suggest you find a reputable instructor who can ensure that you are doing the correct work for her age and make sure that you both don't fall into any naughty habits that are notoriously hard to break.
