spooky horse

my horse is afraid of everything outside. i don't know what to do to help her from being afraid and bolting with me. i have forced her forward to smell the item but i am not sure i am doing her a favor.help

She sounds like a bit of a scaredy cat....

If you are out hacking, then try riding out with a friend on a totally unspookable horse, if she sees another horse going past things she finds scary, then she should get the idea and start to find the world a lot less scary.

Ride positively, encourage her forwards, use your leg and voice and back it up with a whip if you need to, not beat her past things, just use it to back up your leg if she gets 'sticky'
