Question
My horse will pull back almost every time I tie him up to saddle, groom, or wash.  He pulles back so hard he has flipped over numeruos times.  I got the halter that has metal on the poll but no joy.  He does it every where.  I is driving me nuts!!  It is also getting to the point I don't want to taek him out.

Thanks Mary

Answer
hi mary, if you have a big tree around you, tie him up to it. use a sturdy branch that is higher then his head. tie him short so his head it tilted up a little bit. tie him and leave him there for about 3 hours. when he stand questly take him off and reward him. do it everyday. when you go to saddle him up let him pull. tie him short so he cant rear up high enough to flip over and just leave him there. do it everyday for at least 3 hourse. he will figure out that he has to stand their quetly. be patient he will not learn this oover night. it may take a while. when you get done riding him tie him up for a little bit as well. he needs to just stand. but make sure you do it everyday or he wont learn it.
