Questionmy horse is 21. i've had her for 5 years and shes allways seemed to trip/ dosent pick up her feet or somthing, but shes been doing alot more and worse. shes fallen 3 times in less than a month. is still safe to ride her?
AnswerDear Kailee
Are her toes too long? Have you had her trimmed regularly? If it is not a trimming/shoeing issue then have your vet check her. Horses don't fall down without a reason. If her feet look long, or if you haven't been keeping up with trimming/shoeing, call your farrier. If that is not the issue it could be anything from poor physical condition, arthritis, ringbone, navicular disease to a neurological or vision problem. Riding a horse that is prone to fall is not safe. She could land on top of you. Call your vet!
Good luck
