Hi, I would like to get a painted turtle for my daughter but I do not know how to take care of them. I would like to know a few things about them like how hard it is to take care of them and how much in do they cost (as an estimate)

Turtle cost: $30-100, depending on many variables. You can often find them at a good price on craigslist, www.kingsnake.com and http://www.turtleforum.com

Set-up Cost: A turtle is a lot like a somewhat finicky large fish. The average set-up is going to run you $150-300 to do right- mostly for the big tank and big filter.
