Holland Lop - One ear is not loppy

22 10:47:16

Question
When we first bought our female Holland lop to accompany our female Netherland dwarf, her ears where both loppy and drooped down around the sides of her skull. After a few days the female Netherland dwarf continued biting the lop and we had to remove her from the cage. We noticed that one of the ears of the Holland lop doesn't droop anymore like it used to. It rather stays up and lays flat against her back. We have never seen that ear in the drooping position since. Is she injured? and if so...is this injury temporary?

Answer
Dear Anas,

I would take the bunny to a good rabbit vet to be sure there is not an abscess at the site of the bite wound that needs to be treated.  If the bunny is holding the ear against her back, it sounds as if it is hurting her.  You can find a good rabbit vet here:

I'd also be sure both females are spayed and allowed to calm down before you try to introduce them again.  Bonding rabbits is not for the faint of heart, but you can find helpful articles on how to safely do this here:

Hope that helps!
