Mice scratching - mites not gone?

Even if mice DONT have mites do they still scratch? because i have been to a shop twice to have drops on my mice because they were scratching alot. And they still scratch but not as much as they use to be. im still wondering if they still have mites or not.

Dear Zoe,

There are other reasons for mice to have itchy skin.  If the mites treatment doesn't do the job, it's best to bring the mice to a vet experienced either in exotics or pocket pets.

Another possibility is that the mice are getting reinfested from their environment.  When the mice are treated they must be put in a completely clean cage with all new bedding and litter, and all toys should be washed in a water and bleach solution or in hot water; all paper or wood items should be thrown out.
