Question
hi,my dog is a little Maltese terrier and hes so out of control everytime we leave the house he either rips the bin or he gets into the couch and starts ripping the foam and pulls blankets down and its just crazy and he pees on the couch and even sometimes our beds if we accidently leave the door open when were not at home and i would also like to know how to get him peeing in one spot and not everywere around the house and we have tried leaving him outside but he just constantly barks and hes very aggressive towards new people i need your help thankyou

Answer
Your dog sounds very anxious, as though your leaving is very stressful for him.  Dogs will often try to make themselves feel better by chewing, or by urine marking.  This often happens when dogs are not socialized well as very young puppies (age 8-12 weeks) and become overly dependent upon their human family and distrustful of novel situations.  His aggression toward strangers is very likely a response to his fear and anxiety.  My advice would be to find a behaviorist with whom you could work to gradually diminish the dog's fearful responses.  If you don't have access to that, there are two very good, yet inexpensive, books that might prove very useful to you.  They are both by Patricia McConnell, and available at Amazon:
"Way to Go - How to House Train a Dog of Any Age"
"I'll Be Home Soon - How to Prevent and Treat Separation Anxiety"
