my name is myriam and im really interested in being a animal trainer. Im in rosemere high school and in sec 3. I have a P.O.P class and we have to do projects on different careers and im doing it on animal training. and i would like to have a few missing information:)

 According to you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a animal trainer?

 what are the skills, aptitudes and values do you need to be a animal trainer?

 what is the entry level of salary and the highest level salary you can get?

According to you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a animal trainer?

Advantages: helping people to have a nice companion dog, helping dogs stay in their homes rather than be relinquished to shelters due to behavior problems
Disadvantages: being in a profession where there is so much misinformation, such that your clients often come to you with pre-conceived notions of how to train that don't match your knowledge and philosophy

what are the skills, aptitudes and values do you need to be a animal trainer?

You need to be very patient, observant, and willing to continue lifelong learning about dogs.

what is the entry level of salary and the highest level salary you can get?

My entry level salary was $25/hour, but I know that many trainers start off much lower.  The sky's the limit if you get good enough to write books, do seminars, or create new dog training products that you can market;-)
