my dog eats poop

Patt, I have 3 Mini Dachounds and one partcularily likes to eat dog poop,,,,,besides being gross ans disgusting, my wife heard that it was a sign of something that hopefully we can cure.  Any Ideas?  Other than that she is a bundle of joy, loving dog.  we are at wits end.

Hello Howard,
That is most normal in many cases mine do also out of 9 dogs here about 3 do till I holler.
My vet said they are lacking something in the diet to cause this, but I give my dogs the best as I am sure u do also, so I truly cannot define why  only that is becomes a bad habit and gathering the poop right away kinda helps deter this bad habit.
