Question
I have a year (to maybe 1 1/2) old male Cocker Spaniel. (Nuetered).
The past couple of weeks he has started chewing things. It's mostly my wife's stuff- a pair of shoes, wrist supports, paint brush, paper out of the waste basket, etc.
I do play with him & walk him. We give him (and our other 6 year old male Cocker) chew treats.
What can we do to get him back to the non -chewing stage? Or to train him not to chew certain items?

Thank You

Answer
Hi,

A good idea would be to buy a spray thats avaiable in most pet shops. It tastes awful and the dog will soon be put off chewing things.

If this fails, its back to the old effective method of checking him. Point to the bad thing, sternly saying "Who did that?" then ignore him completely.

Eventually it'll sink in that this behaviour is not acceptable.

Good luck,
