American Cocker Spaniel - shaking

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2 year old american cocker spaniel.  Her back side shakes when she gets excited. For the past two weeks I've noticed that she's been shaking even when she's sitting or lieing down. What does this mean?

ANSWER: Can you describe the shaking a bit more precisely?

Is is more "trembling" like shivering?  Is it only her backside or is it all over?

Does it happen constantly or sporadically?

How is she when this happens?  Alert?  Does it even happen when she's sleeping?  Does it stop when she moves?

And what are you feeding her?

QUESTION: Yes, it is like shivering.  It is only her backside and it is sporadically.  It doesn't seem to bother her she is alert and it does happen sometimes when she's sleeping. We have a squarrel in our yard so when she goes out it seems to happen when she waiting.  I'm not sure if it stops when she moves.  We are feedig her "Innova" Evo.

Answer
Innova EVO is a great food so good for you for not doing the supermarket crap.  Do rotate between protein sources.  One is basically red meat and one is more chicken/turkey.

I'd like to know where she sleeps..and if you'd be willing to home cook her dog food for a short time.

I'll just tell you this - with our very first cocker (the amazing Chester..best dog ever)at age two he got this "full body tremor" thing.  One vet - two vets - then a neurologist.  I then decided to take him off "dog food" and do homemade.  End of story.  Never happened again.

The mysterious thing with your girl is that it's only her backside and I'd like to know if this happens on her walks when she sees a squirrel.  What worries me is it happens when she's sleeping.
Where does she sleep at night?

I'd also ask if she gives you any indication of pain...jumping on the sofa or bed...is she a nervous sort of girl..any anxiety at all?
