Question
My B Collie is nw 5 months old and I need help. I am going to puppy classes but still stressing.  She nips at the children (10 years old), and when playing with me still tries to bite albeit gently now, but only with me.  She is loved dearly, but the children are tiring of her nipping them and biting at their toes/socks etc.

Answer
Hi Stella,

I would manage her around the children until she is better equipped to not react to their movement. The longer she gets to "rehearse" this behavior the harder it will be to undo.

With time, management and patience it should dissipate. Left unchecked (or with breed attributation "she's a herding breed dog-that's what they do") it may worsen to the point where it derides the relationship between the children and the dog.
