Question
Ma'am:
First off I am not a dog expert.  I have been an owner for 20 plus year of various breeds.  I try to look at all of the various training practices of different trainers both in "person" and a few seen on TV and the Internet and use what works best.
Crate training:  Reading through several posts you seem to be an advocate against this.  Why?
Personally it has worked well for me and my 1 year old Rottweiller.  He gets exercised twice a day, is out of it when we are home.  Sleeps in it at night. No issues.  I am open to new opinions and that is why I ask this question.

Answer
The domestic dog is not a 'den' animal, as many who misinterpret Wolf behavior suggest.  Crates are abused and misused.  No dog should be confined for long periods of time.  People who insist on turning their dogs into robots need to get stuffed animals.
