Question
i have a 2 1/2 year old welsh corgi, i was considering getting another dog. wes is very protective of me, no one can hug or show affection in front of him or he will bark like a nut, he chases people when they walk by the fence in the front yard. he gets along with some dogs in the area but not all, he prefers female to male.he can be slightly agressive towards my husband when he tries to get into bed.
should i get another dog, if so what breed would you recommend , male or female?

Answer
I think you need to "get" a credentialed behavior expert to address the aggression problems your Corgi is demonstrating toward your husband and his strong trophying behavior toward you.  Bringing another dog into this mix is a huge mistake.  Call the veterinary college nearest to you and ask for a referral to a Ph.D. or DVM behavior expert who will come to your home.  This person needs to understand the obsessive/compulsive urge of the Corgi and its penchant toward guarding behavior.  Your dog appears to be experiencing a rank opportunism which also needs to be addressed.  Chasing people along the fence line is no problem at all for a Corgi; getting aggressive toward your husband when he attempts to get into your bed is a HUGE problem which might (and likely will) result in your husband being bitten.  This needs to be addressed; the dog needs behavior modification therapy.
