My puppies are afraid of their mother

Question
My 7-week old puppies' mother just got a haircut.  They had to shear off her hair because it was ratted. Her hair very very, very long. She is a miniature poodle.  Now her puppies are very frighted of her because they don't recognize her.  They scream a very high-pitched screech every time she comes near them.  I had to separate them from their mother, while I returned to work.  How do I reintroduce the puppies back to their mother?  They are still nursing part time.

Answer
How is the dam reacting to this behavior from her pups?  There may be more involved here than her simply having had a haircut.  She may have returned very stressed and she may be giving her puppies signals that she is refusing them.  (Why did you let this bitch get into this condition to begin with? and why did you separate her from these puppies at ALL until the puppies were weaned?)  I suggest you contact the veterinarian.
