cat does business in pot plants

I have adopted a 10 month old stray and am trying to get her to use the kity litter. she will only use it if we move the pot plants away. Otherwise she goes in the pot plants.what should I do?

Put foil on the bottom of the potted plants where she can't get to the soil.

Try using the same soil as you use in in your plants in her litterbox instead of litter. Or get some playsand from Home Depot and put that in her litterbox.

Since she is a stray, she is probably used to using dirt and may not like the feel of kitty litter and will use dirt when it is available to her.

If that works, just keep adding more kitty litter gradually until it is all kitty litter and she is used to it.
