My Male cat Pees Everywhere!!!

Question
I read the answer you gave to Dale, I am having the same problem. My male cat is peeing everywhere but he is not neutured. I also did start a new job recently so he could be feeling left out. I don't give him as much attention as I used to. Should I get him netured n maybe the problem will reduce? what can I do? He has also been crying alot or meowing alot, sometimes i think he  may be in pain. I'm not sure.

Answer
Sabrina,

Yes, you should get him neutered. It makes alot of difference.
You should also make sure that his behavior is not due to a urinary tract infection or urinary crystals. Those are painful conditions and they associate that pain with the litterbox so they go elsewhere. Urinary crystals can cause a complete blockage and if that happens it is always fatal to male cats,

It's good to rule out a medical issue before dealing with it as a behavioral problem.

He may be in heat. Not paying as much attention to him can also cause that kind of behavior.

Have you thought about getting a kitty friend for him about his same age and temperment? A cat needs a kitty friend for kitty-play, snuggling, and to comfort him and keep him company when you aren't there. 2 cats are easier to keep than one because it takes some of the pressure off of you to keep him company.

First I would get him neutered. You can also have them check for any urinary problems at the same time.
