Question
I have two seven month old male cats. First one cat didn't come for dinner. I thought it was nothing but its been three days and no cat. Then my other cat didn't come home for breakfast. Its been two days now. They get allot of love and attention from our whole family. Do male cats need to explore or wander? Please help cause my son, husband, and i are very worried about our cats...

Answer
Candace,

If your males are not neutered then that is common behavior. They will follow females, or their scent, anywhere. They tend to forget about food, home, anything.

Did you call animal control to see if they were possibly picked up as strays? Do you have break-away collars on them with your phone number or address in case someone took them in thinking they didn't have a home? Are there any trap/neuter/release programs going on in your area? They may have been trapped to be fixed. I would call the SPCA and see if they are aware of any trapping going on. If they were trapped they will be fixed and released back to where they were trapped.

Hopefully you do not have coyotes in your area!!

I would also call nearby veterinarians in case someone found a cat injured and took him to a vet.

Hopefully they will come home soon. And when they do, if they are not neutered, I would have it done as soon as possible.
