Cats ears

I have 3 indoor cats , they each have alot of problems with their ears. They scratch and dig at them sometimes so hard they cry out. I dont know if it is wax or what but there is alot of black stuff in there. Is there anything I can use to clean their ears out?

they probally have ear mites, you can go to wal-mart and in the pet section they should have a liquid for getting rid of ear mites. you can clean the ears with cotton balls and a liquid cleanser u can also get at the store, if you cant find any, water will work.
