Answer
Brad,

Remember, I am not a vet, but it sounds to me as if they are on the wrong track.  I would get a second opinion.  They should have found the root cause of the eye problems, and made sure you knew what it was.  As to food allergies, as unlikely as that may be for a cause, I would change foods to something that has no corn, no wheat, and no soy, especially any glutens.

Most eye problems are cleared within a ten days to two weeks with proper treatments.  At this point there seems to be much more going on if the cat is scratching at his eyes.  That is a very extreme response for any kind of eye issue.

So, when you get a second opinion, you need to relate all the treatments your boy has had includung medications and durations.

Another resource you may try is the fanciers health e-mail group. To subscribe send an e-mail to:

fanciershealth-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

This group is monitored by feline specialist vets and they are pretty good!!!!!  However, it is no replacement for a second veterinary examination of your boy!

Please let me know what you find.

Best regards... Norm.
