Green Algae

Question
I made a small water garden last year (about 400 gal.). I had a couple of water lillies, and a few frogs moved in.  I also added a small fountain. My problem is green algae.  It grows like crazy, and I don't know how to keep it under control without adding something that will kill my plants and the frogs. Can you help me with this problem?

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO ADD SOME ALGACIDE FOR PONDS USE AS  DIRECTED. THIS WILL CLUMP THE EXISTING ALGAE, THEN YOU CAN SKIM THE POND. YOU MAY HAVE TO REPEAT 2 OR 3 TIMES. IF ADD SOME BARLEY STRAW OR POND PEAT TO KEEP THE ALGAE UNDER CONTROL. SUNLIGHT AND ALOT OF NUTRIENTS IN THE WATER PRODUCE ALGAE. i WOULD ADD SOME FLOATING PLANTS SUCH AS WATER HYACINTHS TO REDUCE THE SUNLIGHT GETTING TO THE WATER.
POND ALGACIDE WILL NOT HURT THE PLANTS OR FROGS
