Question
my question is about pond organisms, for the last 2 years now eveytime i clean out the filter on my pond i see these small brownish colored worms that are roughly a quarter of an inch in length. they are a little smaller than a grain of rice, and i also always see tons of what looks like egg cases along the filters walls and stuck to the media balls that are roughly the same size. now i have never really took the time to see if they are in the pond itself because it doesnt seem to be effecting the fish at all. without a photo do you know what they could be and are the safe or unsafe for the stability of the ponds eco system?

Answer
Dear Joseph,

Thank you for your question.
Without pictures it is hard to tell, especial as it is from another country so it is hard to know all local animals.
However I think they would not harm the fish and are in fact part of the biological system.
Sometimes also larvae from fly's or so tend to lay there eggs around ponds and filters.
So I think at first stage it is of no issue.
Hope it helps.

Kind regards and happy pondkeeping,
Raf
