frogs and ponds

im in southern california in sunland, and i want to build a pond and landscape to attract frogs and other little critters... what kind of plants do i put in the pond and what kind of insects do i attract for the frogs?

Answer
To attract frogs native to your area, you'll want to plant species of plants native to your area as well.  I'm on the other side of the US in MD so I'm not familiar with the species native to your area.  If you search for a pond club in your area, I'm sure they can give you a list of native amphibians, aquatic plants, and aquatic insects.  Most frogs love crickets, flies, moths, butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, and earthworms.  If you plant native plants, hopefully the bugs and frogs will come!  Good luck!
