hello i have recently installed a koi pond but ian having trouble getting the water to become clear.ihave a savio filter with a ultra violet light.the water seems to be very muddy.i have put water lillys and water hyacynths in and run the filter all day and night.is there any thing else i can do to make the water clear.a frend of mine said to do water changes but that didnt work either. please help ,me thanks.

I don't know what a savio filter is as I have never heard of one, First you will find that koi keepers do not have pond plants or water lillies in their ponds ,the reason being that the koi will just pull them out of their containers or disturb what ever they are planted in so you will never get clear water until you take your plants out, no, water changes will not make the water clear it will still turn green or brown until it has matured it is okay to do a partial water change but not more than about 10%.
