Bakers Yeast in fish pond

Question
What would be the effect of bakers yeast in a fish pond?  Someone told me this could be a way of controling algae.
I am referring to my @ 1800 gallon ornimendal pond!

Answer
I have not heard of anyone adding yeast to a pond.  I have heard of feeding yeast to fish or other animals.  I did a quick internet search and didn't find anything.  Sorry I didn't help.  Good luck with your pond.  My page on algae control is at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/plants/algae2.htm
