draining a pond for good

Hi, i have just moved house and we have a pond.  We also have a 1 year old who has just started walking so we want to empty the pond.  There were tiny frogs and tadpoles in it in the Summer but i don't know what to do - are they still there and if so what do i do with them?  Thanks, Charlotte

Hi Charly: I would drain the pond to about the 3/4 mark and then investigate if there are still things living it it.  The frogs will relocate themselves but the tadpoles would perish.  How large is the pond??? and have you considered keeping the pond and installing a fence??? dave
