horse bolting at feed - problems

Question
hello ma'am, what problem would a horse suffer if it is bolted at feed. the fodder would get jammed up in the throat. can you mention that problem name?

Answer
Hello Rohit,

Thank you for your question.  Horses who bolt their feed run the risk of developing choke, a disorder where food becomes lodged in the horse's esophagus.  Often times, the choke can only be cleared by passing a hose down the esophagus to dislodge the blockage.

Thanks, Corlena
