Questionhello ma'am, don't horses turn fat if they keep grazing the grass or hay continuously for 24hours?
AnswerHi Rohit,
Thank you for your question. Horses get fat from consuming more energy than they use, irregardless of the energy source. Energy rich grass or hay can make an inactive horse fat where they may not have enough energy for an exercising horse. Traditionally grains are more energy dense than forages and so tend to make inactive horses fatter faster than forages.
