horse fat hello ma'am, is this horse fat? if yes, may i know how you are judging it?

Hello Rohit,

Everyone judges body condition a little subjectively, with a different idea of what is ideal. No question that this horse is carrying a fair amount of condition. However, I would suggest that the size of the horse's belly is swaying the perception of body condition, making the horse look 'fat' when it isn't really. Belly size isn't really part of the body condition evaluation process. My guestimate of body condition from this picture would be a 6, which in my opinion is a nice condition for inactive horses or pregnant mares but maybe too much condition for a performance horse.
