colic - overfeeding grains suddenly

hello ma'am, do horses get struck by colic when they are overfed grains all of a sudden?

Hi Rohit,

Horses can develop colic from eating grain rich diets, especially if the grain is rich in starch.  You want to avoid feeding too much grain at one time, and of course you don't want to allow your horse unlimited access to starch-rich feeds.
