Cleaning a saddle

Question
I was just given an old western saddle - the saddle itself is in great condition - no cracks in the leather - stitching is excellent etc.  but it is very dirty and needs to be cleaned - what is the best product or products on the market that will help me bring it back to it's original or as close to it as I can get condition?

Answer
hi Debbie,
I personally like leathern new. i think its the best conditioner out there. i use it on all my saddles and bridles. just get the leather new foam and you put in on the saddle then scrub it with a tooth brush. its time consuming but it works the best. clean it once then the next day do it again until the saddle is clean. leather new conditions the leather but it doesn't make it sticky with oil. you can find this product at almost any tack store or feed store. good luck!
