QuestionMy horse, 12yr gelding, moved to a new stable 1 month ago. When I lunge him he sometimes starts neighing. He has not done that in the past and only does it occasionally. Is there something I can do to avoid it?
AnswerHello Annie,
He is a horse and he is simply calling to his new buddies. He probably has a bit of separation anxiety since he left one stable and came to the other, and probably misses his old buddies. I would do nothing except keep him occupied and well worked. I am sure he will stop the neighing when he gets more used to the place and feels at home there. It is a minor problem and may grow to a bigger one if you nag him.
Best wishes,
Dorothy
