Question
Hello I noticed my mare had a small bloody discharge from her vulva today She is due to foal May/June time I am up to date with her vaccinations and herpes vas I recently wormed her with Equimax from the vet and will take her on Monday for a check up but would appreciate some advice if possible before then obviously if things looked bad I would call them out but at the moment im just keeping an eye on her. I have never had a mare in foal before I have had her 7 years and the stallion I used is lovely and clean. Could she be loosing her foal? She is fit and healthy im just worried as I love her to bits.

Thanks
Paula

Answer
Not sure what is going on, I would call a vet and just ask them.  It could be so many things and nothing you can most likely, If she is stalled up let her out so she can walk, get exercise and work out kinks, the worst place for a pregnant mare is in a small enclosed area where she can not get exercise and feel free to move.
