Question
Hi! O.K well before i start i would like to thank you for your time and i hope you can help me! I have a few problems or queries about my new pet rabbit Buster. He's about ten weeks old now. I've had him for just over a week and i've noticed he's developing a bit of a belly, the vet said he was a boy but because he was so young - 7 weeks when he checked - he couldnt be 100% sure. Im worried that Buster could infact be a Bella and she could be pregnant, im not sure so is there any other signs i can look out for, he also eats slightly more if that helps although he couldnt have put on this weight in the time i've had him. The secone thing is i think he's a bit crazy! When i have him out in the house i let him run around, but he twitches alot and shivers and then he dashes about in mad bouts, not like a normal rabbit, he is very fast and moves from side to side. He also shivers and then springs up off the floor as if he didnt expect it to happen, is this normal? My final query is his urine, it seems to be a very bright orangey yellowy colour and isnt see through, is this normal? Thank you so much for your time and i hope you can help me, sorry for my poor spelling and grammer too!

Answer
hi emma-two things, one your rabbit is a baby and is filling out, so dont worry about his belly.
two-the vet could easily tell at 7 weeks wether it was a boy or girl, if not he's not a very good vet.dont worry about him jumping up and down and being a bi crazy, he will soon settle down into a routine.
is urine should be clear, you dont say what your feeding him , let me know and i'll answer about this when you tell me,
dave.
