Question
On ocaisions I have to look after my husbands parents farm. The last time I looked after their meat rabbits the large cage of rabbits to be killed were having babies they were being stomped on and killed. These rabbits are brothers and sisters ect. This litter was born during the night as they were not their the night before.I have a very big heart and took them home. Their were 2 alive. I feed them every 3hours as I had a new born to get up with. After 9 days one died. As the other one got older I noticed her legs were quite bullegged. Her chest is quite close to the ground and is hard to keep clean. I was continplating keeping that hair clipper cut. I bath her but still find it matty and hard to keep clean.I also find she has ahard time keeping her back end clean. I have been told it is sad to keep her alive, but she don't know she has a problem and she is extremly loved by my 5 children. I would also like to know the proper comb to use and any suggestions about keeping these area clean. Thanks Leanne

Answer
Usually the best grooming tools for rabbits are the ones you can buy for cats.  You can also bath the bunny in a mild soap such as baby shampoo or Ivory dishsoap.  Other than that I am not sure how to help.  Hand raised bunnies are usually not as healthy and strong as those raised by the mother and normally do not live to be even a year old so enjoy the time you are given and hope for the best.
