Bunny litter training

Question
I adopted a rabbit a couple of days ago. The store had said that she was neglected and had gone from house to house. They also don't know how old she is, but had estimated that she's about 2 years old. We have her cage on the floor of the living room, and let her roam around while we're in the room. Today was the first day she'd pooped outside of her cage. My question is, should I try to litter train her? What should I do to the living room to ensure that it won't happen again?

Answer
If you are going to let her out of the cage on a regular basis, then yes, you'd want to littertrain, and also bunny proof.

Here is information on both of those.  Older bunnies generally littertrain faster, if that is any consolation.
