Question
Can floppy eared rabbits survive freezing temperature?

Answer
Dear Hector,

No type of rabbit--lop or up-eared--can survive freezing temperatures without strong protection.  A rabbit left outside without shelter will die when it gets very cold, and suffer terribly.

Please NEVER leave a rabbit outdoors if the temperature is any lower than about 40 Farenheit.  And below 50 Farenheit, the bunny needs a secure, warmed shelter where he can go and snuggle in dry, warm bedding and warm up if he gets too cool.

The best, safest place for a bunny in the winter is *indoors* with the family.  I don't think any human family members would like to spend the night outside in the freezing winter--even well dressed.  Your rabbit is no different.  DO NOT leave him outside when it's cold.

I hope this helps.
