Question
Dear Mrs Valentine,
I am here writing you again for some advice. This question your book did not cover, so I am asking for your help. My 8 month old mpb has always been able to get off out couch. She would slide off her front legs and then slide off her back legs. Well Sunday there was some pillows laying on the floor and she tried to get down and twisted her ankle and cracked her bone where the bone is still soft and we took her to the vet. They did xrays and showed us where it was. He splint it with a dog splint and wrapped it up. It would not stay on her foot, so me and my husband tried to resplint it and when she woke up, she was crying and whining and as soon as the splint came off she quit. I have been giving her childrens tylenol through the day and nite, and have not put the splint back on. The woman we bought her from said not to because it would only cause more probs. She seemed to hurt more with it on. She is so pitiful. All she does is lay around and sleep. She cant get comfortable and is getting restless. Is there anything we can do to help her or maybe we need to do something different? I have been sleeping with her in the living room on the floor since sunday to help her. Please let me know what I can do to help her more. Thank you so much.

Answer
The number one cause for broken legs is jumping off of beds/couches.
The idea of the splint is to keep the pig off it so it can heal.
Never give Tylenol to a pig.
Aspirin is usually OK but in this case you want the pig to feel pain when she walks on it so she will stay off of it and heal.
