Hi,

 I have a one year old, spayed female top eared rat, named Pingu. She hasnt been feeling well over the past month and its not getting better. Here are her symptoms right now:
Laboured breathing
decreased activity
increased porphorine
constantly congested (crakling, small noises, wet sneezing)

Her water and food intake has not changed, what concerns me most is when she is resting, you can really see her forcing to breathe.

I have given her:
steam for 10mins 3X a week
robitussin (on really bad days)

chloramphenicol palmitate (half cc 2X a day, 7days)positive response for 24hours, no longer responded to the med after that.

I booked an app. this thursday to the vets. Just wondering what you would give Pingu judging on the info i gave you?

Check out my page about Myco and its treatment. At this point she would benefit from baytril and amoxil along with albuterol to help open her airways much better than the cough meds would.
