Question
Hello,
My ten year old daughter wanted a fancy mouse for 3 months. Her father and I told her
To save her money, and she did. We went to Pet Smart and bought a male fancy mouse.
We picked everything out, came home and set it all up! She and her father and I were
Excited! We noticed when we first held him, to put him in his new cage, his back left foot
Was larger then the other three. Didn't think anything of it. Then the next day samething.
We told her he was special. Well, now 8 days later it looks like he has a growth on a
Toe. We are so upset. Yesterday he was bleeding from his toe. It stopped! But somethin
Isn't right. Now he has some little bumps on his back side and missing some hair! I am
Freaking out! My daughter is upset! So now I think I need to take this little 6 dollar guy
To a big vet bill! Any advice? He is worth it! He is only 11 weeks old! And our daughter friend!  Help if you can?!

Answer
Dear Cherrie,

I am so glad to hear that you are willing to take him to the vet. So many people are not willing to pay for their kid's mouse and the poor mice suffer. I also don't want to try to diagnose the mouse from the description.  Yes, he definitely needs to go to the vet. I would be interests in what the vet says and does because I am curious as to whether there are two problems or one. Could you do that for me please?

Best of luck.

Squeaks,
Natasha

PS interestingly, Oreo is the most common name of mice in questions that I receive!
