Found young mouse at work

Question
Hello, I discovered what looks to be a deer mouse in an empty trash can as i was cleaning an RV at work. It was next to another mouse but the other mouse was passed away. It looks too young to set free as I found no signs of other mice anywhere around my work place. I was just wondering if you could help me because I'm pretty much a first time mouse owner and have no idea where to begin. I made a makeshift habitat with grass and some stuffing in it so Sir Pickles could hide, but I still don't know what to feed him or what to properly house him in. I would also like to know how you can tell if it's a male or female.
Thank you so much for your time,
Connie.

Answer
Hi Connie,

I first would like a photo to make sure he is old enough to eat on his own. You can send it here or- are you on Facebook? I can help you best that way. I can also add you to a mouse and rat group I run and we have collected a ton of resources for rat and mouse owners.

I don't think I mentioned food in here but here  is a beginner video I made:

For food, a seed mix at a pet store is what I use.

And Sir Pickles is going to want some friends! -- But this is all assuming he wants to be a pet!  We will see.

I expect to hear from you soon :)
