Question
my name is nick and me and my best friend got a german shepard collie mix. and the breader asured us that the little pup didnt have worms but it turned out that he has two kinds heart and hook worms... what can we do about the breader so no one else gets fooled by this unfortunet event ?

Answer
Firstly, never buy a puppy from a person who is breeding mixed breed dogs!!!  You could have gotten a nice mixed breed puppy from the shelter, and they would have treated it for worms, which puppies often have.  Or, you could have gotten a breeder referral from the AKC or UKC and gotten a purebred pup from quality stock for not much more than you probably paid for the one you got.

Get medicine from your vet to clear this infestation, and report the breeder to the state veterinarian or SPCA for having sick puppies on his premises.

And, don't forget that puppies need socialization, so get treatment as soon as possible, and get your puppy into a good puppy class as soon as the infestation is cleared.  This may really handicap your puppy with behavioral problems, owing to the fact that, because of the heartworm, he won't be able to play for a while.  This breeder is truly disreputable, as there are heartworm preventives that are safe for use in puppies as young as six weeks.

Hi Nick-Thanks for the nice review.  Usually, each state has a department of agriculture.  You may be able to find the state vet's phone number by asking them.  Or, contact your nearest SPCA.  Google on "society for the prevention of cruelty to animals" and (your state).
Good luck!
