QuestionMe and my boyfriend are thinking about getting a dog. I havent heard much about basset hounds, and so I was wondering if they were good house pets. Do they train well? Do they have a lot of energy? Are they good family dogs? Thanks!

Basset Hounds are very stubborn and notoriously difficult to house train. They aren't obedience stars nor will they do many silly tricks. :) Of course, like any dog, they can be taught but they are not as easily trained as a labrador, for example.
No, they don't have a ton of energy, most are happy to lay about in front of the television. But yes, they're good family dogs. :)
