ANSWER: Hi Cheryl,

Rufus is what famous animal behaviorist Cesar Millan would call a "red-zone" case. Rufus is your dog and your responsibility. If you can't keep him in a fenced yard with efficient exercise, then you don't have the right to keep him; he is putting the public in danger and killing your neighbor's pets. That's not right. You obviously have no control over him and need to give him to someone who can control him. You're not only putting everyone else's lives in danger, but Rufus's as well. This is very selfish of you. Please contact a professional immediately to prevent losing your dog. It's a terrible feeling knowing that you might lose him, but you need to do the right thing. You have two choices: contact a professional, or give him to someone who can keep him fenced in or fix this problem behavior. QUESTION: I am very aware that he is my responsibility and i have been constantly doing things like putting up a fence then adding the electic fence the vet even told me if i had him fixed that would help control his agressiveness it hasent i took him to a trainer not much help either because as long as im with him theres no problem i also called the local animal shelter because i though he might do better in the country but when i revealed his behavior they said he eas not adoptable and that pretty much if i brought him in they would put him down im not trying to justify my dogs behavior in any way i just thought that you being an expert could give me additional advice to get this under control not so you could in not so many words tell me im a bad dog owner i love my dog very much and i have put alot of time effort and money into taking control i was just hoping you could help so thank you anyway

Answer
   Hello Again,

I think you misunderstood. I'm not at all saying that you're a bad owner. I'm just telling you the facts because with many of the questions I get on here, the owners are being irresponsible and aren't willing to give their dogs what they need (I'm not saying that you're one of those people). I apologize if I sounded rude or as if I was giving you a lecture, but many of these questioners don't take their job as pet owners seriously. The only advice I have for you is to put up a better fence, and call a professional, such as Cesar Millan: http://cesarmillaninc.com/dogwhisperer/submissions.php
Wish I could be of more assistance! Thank you!
